Playing with imovie

Last night I decided it was time to learn how to use imovie. Here is the result:

My nephew Camden turned six 2 weeks ago. To celebrate his birthday his mom Amy took 4 of his friends from school and Drew and Camden's brother Cade to the pumpkin patch. Amy's mom and myself went along to watch the little cuties. Then on Sunday Camden had is family party. It was a great day! The kids had a great time going through the pumpkin patch, corn maze, zip line, bounce house. Drew's favorite was the big slides. We finished the day off in the birthday house and the kids roasted their hotdogs and ate cake and open presents.

I am so far behind in my blogging and instead of trying to catch up (we have done way too many things) I will just pick up with current events. On October 10th by big boy turned 4! It has gone way too fast and I find myself loving the time I spend with him. The things he says and the way he sees thing is so darn cute. We had a Superhero party on Saturday to celebrate Drew's birthday. We invited all of our family and 11 of Drew's little friends attended as well. I think next year I will have 2 separate parties, but all in all it was a great day.

Things about my big 4 year old boy:
1. He has a great sense of humor. (the other day I complimented him on setting the table ("wow, you did that all by yourself" Drew: " No, a ghost did it. It was a friendly ghost."

2. Likes things just so. I will find him picking up his toy room. Drew "it is just too crazy in here for me" (a little like his grandma Julie :)

3. He can count to 20. Knows letters and most of the sounds, can write his name, and draw a picture of his family (of course arms and legs coming out of our heads)

4. Can dress himself, but gets his left and right shoes mixed up at times.

5. Is very caring. Will cry if he thinks he hurt someone's feeling or accidentally bumped into them. He is also caring towards his sister. If she is crying he will say " Kinley is having a rough day." "maybe her teeth are cutting up or her bootie hurts" What a considerate little guy.

6. He can still run run run very fast. Ride his bike without training wheels and pump his swing.

7. Still loves his hugs. Yesterday morning Drew said, " I am mad at you mom" Me: " Why?" Drew: "because you forgot my morning hug"

8. Is very into earning money. When we moved into our new house and had Mckinley, Drew would frequently show up in our room in the middle of the night. We invented the bed fairy. It worked like magic and she would leave things under his pillow if he slept through the night. One day she was out of candy and left money. Now that is all Drew wants her to leave and lets just say he is always staying in his bed. Every money he counts his money and when we are in stores he will ask how expensive things are. I think we need to give Drew a note soon from the fairy saying " You don't need me anymore" before he breaks us.

We Love the Zoo!

We spend a lot of time at the zoo. Our favorite animals and attractions change each time we visit. Here are some cute pics from our lastest visit.

Drew loves suckers and I bought him one because his is my little helper and a great big brother. He was so proud.

Sooo Behind!

Well where do I even start. With my going back to work I am so behind on my blogging. I am going to post some old stuff from the summer.

One bit of exciting news around here is Mckinley has started walking. She is one day shy of 9 months. She started taking steps a week ago. The most steps she has taken is 11 steps in a row. This is currently her full time job and she is determined to keep up with her big bro.


Drew update. Drew is rhyming words, swinging all by himself, and loving superheros. I think he currently talks about spiderman, batman, or his favorite Transformers all day long. I will be happy when this obsession "cools" a bit.

Splashin at the Splash Park!

A couple of weeks ago I took the kids to the splash park at Woods Pool. It is a little bit of a drive for us now that we are in Waverly, but it is the one pool area that I feel comfortable taking both kids by myself. Mckinley loved it because the water was warm enough and Drew went down the slide a million times. Drew was ready to go after a couple of hours. I do notice that he has reached that age that he would rather be in the big pool with a friend. Mom is just not as fun as she used to be and I always seem to be occupied with Kinley.

Fourth of July in Waverly

The 4th in Waverly is definitely a tradition I would like to maintain. Very simple and very family orientated. The day started off with the kid bike parade. Then we made breakfast. Off with the neighbors to the official parade. Drew loved the trucks and was really into the CANDY. He mastered the smile cute and wave to earn throw of candy in his direction. Then we had a neighborhood cookout followed up with fireworks. Mckinley and Drew enjoyed them. It was a great day! I will hopefully be posting our trip to Adventure Land and Thomas the Train as they happened 3 weeks ago. Wow, with Mckinley crawling everywhere and Drew wanting me to be a super hero, the days really fly by.

Fourth of July Bike Parade!

I am really late on posting our 4th of July pics, but here is part 1 of our first fourth in Waverly. We loved celebrating here. It had a great small town feel and so much fun for Drew. The first event was the kiddo bike parade. We decorated Drew's bike and Mckinley's stroller at our neighbors house the night before. There was a great turn out and Drew had a great time. We just recently took off the decorations because he loved them so much.

Well the title says it all. Shortly after purchasing our swing set this summer and after a million "Will you push me on the swing", we realized that we would need to start teaching Drew how to "pump" his own swing. As we all know Brandon is all about independence, while I struggle a little seeing them grow up so fast. Drew still needs some help, but is very proud of his growing skills on the swings
Mckinley is also loving the swing set. She would love to be pushed in the swing all night. Don't you just love summer!

A couple of Sundays ago we finally did not have plans soo..... we let Drew pick which one of our regular hangouts he wanted to visit. He picked the Children's Museum. It was a real treat for daddy to come with us. Mckinley even enjoyed looking at all of the bright colors.
