We are all smiles around here. Our crazy period has ended. Mckinley was born, our house is finished and moved into, and Christmas was celebrated. Mckinley is 7 weeks old and 2 weeks ago started smiling. Which is the reward you get after 5 weeks of no sleep and a million poopy diapers. Drew is a fantastic big brother. He runs to her and gives her the paci and will talk to her. Her imitates my high pitched voice and I will hear him saying "hi, sweet baby or hi, my darling". When he hears her crying he will run to me and say, "I think someone needs milk" It is so great seeing him interact with her. I can't wait until they are talking to each other. After the first week home with Mckinley we discovered that she was more like Drew as a baby than we first thought. This means, we have some fussy times late afternoons, she is very alert, and if awake all her limbs are in motion. Some things that I notice that are different are that she can sleep for longer stretches than Drew did. We are up to a 5 hours stretch at night and she loves to stare at people faces and loves being talked to. Drew loved fans, and his playmat. Being held was a top priority for both of them as babies, however, it makes it interesting now that I have a 3 year old to play with.
Funny story: Today on the way to Drew's preschool. Drew informed that "I smiled at Kinley and she smile back at me" Too cute!
