What a Fish!

Drew on the first day of swimming lessons. He was very excited.

Drew in the locker room. His towel is almost as big as him.

Drew has completed the first week of a 2 week 4 days a week swimming class at Union College. They are an hour long and they focus on floating, bobs, and a sitting dive. Drew loves the class. He seems like such a big boy! I am sure he will want to show off his new skills at the swimming pool here in Waverly this summer, but I am still trying to figure how to manage both of them at the swimming pool. I also do not like taking Mckinley out in the sun. We may have to go in the evenings when Brandon gets home from work.

Drew funny story: Yesterday Mckinley was taking a nap after her 6 month shots and I was going to try to accomplish something around the house. Drew was begging to ride his bike out front. I don't trust him in the front yard unless an adult is watching so I told him that he had 2 choices 1 Go in the house and find something to play or 2. play in the fenced in backyard. Drew then said, "No, I have 5 options (yes, he used the word options :) 1. go to Landon's house, 2. go to Jacob's house 3. take a nap 4. go inside and play 5. go to the backyard. I couldn't help up laugh. Maybe he will be a future attorney.

Sitting Up!!

So happy to be sitting all by herself.

Kinley showing me that she can hold her own bottle. Brandon loves that she is independent. I quickly pick her up and then proceed to feed her. (she will only be this little for such a short time :)

Drew feeding Mckinley.

Drew reading Five Little Monkeys one morning. Look how interested she looks. What a great big brother.

Our little Mckinley is now 6 months old. She is entering my favorite age of babies. She has really turned into a happy baby. Two days ago I weaned Kinley from nursing so she is now a full time bottle baby. I had only made it to 6 months with Drew and really wanted to keep things equal and the same. It was sad to quit, yet it is nice to see other family members joining in the bonding by feeding Kinley. Things Mckinley is doing at 6 months:
1. Sitting up on her own!
2. Eating lots of baby food
3. Rolling and starting to scoot.
4. Smiling and laughing, especially at Drew and when we say "meow" ( I will have to remember that for our upcoming 6 month pics)
5. She spits up a lot. I am becoming an expert at stain removal.
6. She is a mommy's girl , but is beginning to warm up to daddy.
7. starting to be unsure of strangers.
8. Loves to scream. Man, that tiny girl is LOUD!
9. We are entering the difficult time of diaper changing. Rolling away and squirming everywhere.
10. She a pure delight and is loved so much!

Drew funny story: The other day, Mckinley rolled over and Drew noticed and said, "Mom, I'm so impress" "Are you impress?" (it is nice to know that Mckinley will have a brother who will cheer on her accomplishments) I hope that lasts forever!

Mommy, Get the Camera!

Drew riding without training wheels!
He was excited to show off his new skills to the neighborhood gang!

Last Tuesday night, Drew came running into the house around 7:30 yelling, "mommy, get the video camera". I quickly finished Kinley's bath and ran outside with the camera in hand to find Drew riding up and down the street without training wheels. Brandon informed me that one of his training wheels was lose and instead of tightening it he took them off. To our surprise Drew just started riding, no teaching necessary. He is not slow and it makes me very very nervous. So my new phrase that I find myself repeating over and over again is "Get your HELMET!".
