Well I am back to work. It has been a rough transition for all. I really really miss the kids. I am hopeful that it will get easier. I really treasure my Thursdays off. I am liking Mckinley's daycare, although I think she has had some adjusting to not being held all day. And after her second day she came home and slept until the next morning so it must be a little more stimulating there. Drew is coming down with a cold so we stayed home this today and just snuggled. Mckinley gets baptized this weekend so all of our family will be coming to town. We may even have them babysit on Sat. night so Brandon and I can go out and eat.
Drew funny story:
Last Thursday we were lucky enough to make it to the Children's Museum for some fun with our friend Megan and her kiddos Mackenzie and Kaden. On our way there I was praising Drew for being a big boy (I can't remember why) and when we got inside he went up to the woman at the front desk and said I am a big boy. I am 35 points. I am sure he meant 35 pounds. He loves to weigh himself.
Drew had his best behavior in church this week. He sat on the pew and read the book and I could hear him saying thanks for my mom and dad and Mckinley. Then it got funny as he said thanks for his blue paint, his new shelves, his movie "move it move it" (that is what he calls Madagascar) Then he proceeded to kneel on the kneeler with us and fold his hands in prayer. During the "our father prayer" we hold hands as a family, Drew was standing next to an older gentleman and he reached out his hand to him to hold and they held hands. (it was so sweet)
10 things I know about Mckinley at 11 weeks
1. Her smile lights up a room
2. She has quite a set of lungs on her.
2. A bath during her fussy time is magic. She could sit in the bath all day.
3. She has the longest fingers and long skinny feet.
4. She loves to have the blanket around her face when falling asleep.
5. She loves I mean LOVES to be talked to, in fact I can barely get anything done when she is awake.
6. She likes to be carried facing forward so she doesn't miss the action
7. She likes to sleep in her swing
8. She loves and will smile when you make a razzing sound
9. She needs to be held (most of the day)
10. She loves watching her big brother ( soon he will really be able to entertain her)

CoCo Keys and Cookies
This week was so much fun! We had a great time at CoCo Keys. Drew loves the water and tore up the slides. He loved the floating river with rafts, however, he loved to go around in his life jacket only. He called it the Nile river (must have heard that from a cartoon) and would pretend the pirates and alligators were after us. He was a little to short for the medium sized slides by a inch, but Brandon snuck him on a few times. If you ask him he will say that was is favorite part. Mckinley was easy to take and the water running put her to sleep and when awake the colorful sights kept her stimulated. Night was not as great, she may have been a little over stimulated because she needed a good cry to finally go to sleep. I was worried that someone would call our room in for all the crying, but it was the little boys that got us called in. They were jumping around in the room and we were asked to keep it down. (they were very nice and we were a little embarrassed)
Mckinley is cooing and smiling more and more. She now will cry whenever you set her down. She LOVES to be held. Facing out to see the world is her favorite. She also loves to stare at peoples' faces. I think she may have a hard time adjusting to daycare. We have been putting her in her crib to sleep. She wakes up much more often in there than her swing. We will keep working on it.
Drew and I made heart shaped cookies for Valentines day. He loves to help cook and I will let him pour things in my mixing bowl whenever possible.
Drew funny story: I was reading Drew a book and it talked about how the dog had to go to the Perfect Pup Institute. Drew stopped me and said, " I don't think its an Institute. I think its a Toot" and then he laughed and laughed (he already is developing boy fart humor)
Yesterday afternoon, I think Drew wanted a little of my attention so he looked at me and said, "How about I be your kid and Kinley be daddy's kid" He makes me laugh everyday.
On a sad note I go back to work on Friday. I am feeling anxious about the kids going to daycare, but I am sure we will all adjust. I will write and let you know how the week back goes.

Back to Normal
We are getting back to normal around here and I am much happier with a little organization and order. Everything is unpacked and put away it will take some time to make the house feel like home with art on the walls and things on bookcases. This past week we hit the Indoor playground, the Children's Museum, and story time at the library. I was starting to feel guilty that Drew had not been going to all his usual hangouts, but with nursing it is hard to leave for several weeks. I think I got the hang of it now and with several successful outings my confidence grows. On Friday the boys went back to Albion so Brandon could help with wresting and Drew was able to the weekend on the farm with Dan and Pam. He had a great time!
Mckinley is smiling more and more every day. She is cooing has discovered the animals on her playmat and will occasionally hit one with her hands. She is getting into a little bit of a routine. She will wake up around 7:30 and go back to sleep around 9:00. She stays asleep most of the morning and will wake up again around 12:00. She is up then until around 5:00. She may sleep an hour or so. Then up until 11:00-11:30 and will sleep till around 3:00 up for a quick feeding and back to sleep until morning. I can't complain with this schedule. She sleeps in much bigger chunks than Drew did as a baby. He was much more of a cap napper. We went to Mckinley's 2 month appointment on Monday. She weighed 11lb 3 oz. (61% percentile) and 231/4 in (80% percentile). She got a bunch of shots and got the saddest face on after her first shot the nurse then could not find her bandage so the shots seemed to take a long time. It took awhile to calm Mckinley down after her shots.
I am going to occasionally journal about a funny story or something that Drew said because I have a terrible memory and he is at the age where he is saying so many cute things.
Funny story: Drew will now go the the bathroom and say " I need some privacy" also when he thinks things are getting smelly he will ask for the fan. Yesterday I read Drew his books and told him it was time for his nap. A little while later he came out of his room and said " I tried it was too boring in there" Tonight we will eating and he said he was too full to eat his green beans. He said he had a tummy ache. Brandon told him that he should go lay down in his room then. Drew quickly jumped down from his chair and said " it will feel better in my toy room".
On Friday we are going to CoCo Keys with Brandon's bother Brain his wife Amy and their boys Camden and Cade. Drew is so excited. I am a little nervous about how Mckinley will do, since she still sleeps in her swing. Maybe we will bring her vibrating chair. We will see how it goes.
