Yummy!

Feeding Kinley for the first time. She loved it!
Kinley with bananas all over her face.Drew tickling Mckinley toes. She has really started to love him and be entertained by him more and more.
Drew, "I got your toes"
I love when they play together. It makes my day. I can't wait to be home with them this summer.

All smiles!!

Mckinley is almost 6 months and the past month she has been watching me so intently every time I am eating. Her 2 bottom teeth are showing and I made the decision to start baby food. I remember with Drew doing exactly what the books said start with veggies the green ones first. I also remember that eating baby food did not start off so great with Drew and to this day he does not love the green veggies more because that is what I started with. Soo...... I did something very rebellious (especially for me who is such a rule follower) I gave Mckinley bananas first. She loved them she opened her mouth like a real pro. What a different experience than with Drew.

Things I know about Mckinley at almost 6 months:
1. She is really happy first thing in the morning
2. She will laugh aloud when Drew makes silly faces
3. Her bottom 2 teeth are showing and she is so much more happy now that they are through
4. She still loves to have a blanket by her face when she sleeps which makes me a nervous wreck
5. She can sit for a about a minute or until she reaches for something
6. She can squeal really loud. Her and Drew love to do this back and forth in the car
7. Her legs are in constant motion
8. She does not require long naps
9. She smiles a lot
10. She loves people talking to her

Drew and Coach. Drew even gave Brandon several hugs out on the field.
Our big boy!

Drew next sport season is now underway. It is called Blastball and it is a simplified version of T-ball. Brandon is the coach and watching him lead those 3 years through a game is almost as entertaining as watching Drew. Drew is very excited to play and is happy to be on the red team until last night when they played in the rain. Mckinley and I stayed home due to the weather. When Brandon and Drew got home, Brandon informed me that I should be glad I stayed home. Only 3 kids on our team showed up, one little girl did not want to hit the ball, and part way through the game Drew started walking toward the car and calmly said " I'm done, I quit the red team". When I asked him why he quit he answered "well it was raining, my clothes got wet and I was cold". I totally understood. He may have a little of me in him after all :)

Jumping, Singing, and a Soccer Medal!!

Playing with cousins
A house warming cake with a drawing of our house from Brandon's aunt Mary and Uncle Jerry
Drew with his soccer medal

Drew at his spring program.
Mckinley at 5 months

We have had a fun week with the kids. Drew had his last soccer game on Saturday. Our coach was gone so Brandon had to fill in. Brandon's family was all in town to cheer on Drew. Drew loved that and was extra happy to see that he got a medal for the season.

Mckinley update:
1. Her 2 bottom teeth have popped through (yippee!!)
2. She is much happier and I even was told today at daycare that she was "awesome" (keep in mind that this is her first awesome and she started in February :)
3. She still continues to LOVE attention and to be held and will even scream if you leave her side and then stop when you return to play with her.
4. She has really started jumping in her jumper!
5. She is now a side sleeper. I keep trying to put her on her back and she keeps rolling to her side.

Drew had his spring program last night and it was hilarious. I get a kick out of 2 and 3 year olds singing and standing on a stage for 30-40 minutes.

Drew funny story: On Tuesday morning I told Drew that he would have his program that night. Drew responded with " I really will try my best, Mom" I am thinking that his teacher must have given yellow room a talk about trying their best :)

Drew's program. Just for the record parent's were asked to sing along. Brandon decided it would be funny to record me singing.

Backyard Fun!

Drew delivering May day basketsOur May day baskets

Our new swing set with all the neighborhood gang. Notice how it is mainly boys!!

Getting a push on the tire swing.
Saying "cheese" Our sweet little sassy lady!
I just had to include all these pics because she looked so darn cute!

After eating cereal. She's not really loving it, but I must admit we haven't been working on it as much as we should be.
Drew laughing because he thinks it is so funny that Kinley gets cereal too.

Last week we got our lawn and days later we purchased a swing set. Drew loves it and every day when my car pulls in the driveways we are greeted by the neighborhood gang asking if they can play in our backyard. For me, it is dream come true. I have always wanted a neighborhood where the kids ran from yard to yard and now we have it! This week went by fast and we spent a lot of time on the new swing set, making May day baskets, and then topped the week off with a stay in Albion hanging out with all the grandparents, aunt, uncles, and cousins.

Drew funny story of the week: Drew hopped out of the shower the other night and wanted to sit on my lap. He then looked me straight in the eye and said "mom, I will never break you apart, I just lub(love) you too much". I think he meant I will never break your HEART. :)

Mckinley update:
1. Mckinley rolled over from back to tummy for the first time on May 2nd. She has now done it only 3 times. I don't think she will be a big roller. Drew never was either.

2. I can feel a little bit of her bottom tooth poking through!

3. She Loves her blankets and is really into those taggie blankets.

4. She is getting close to sitting up. I think she will have it mastered by months end.
